Yamini Jain / Planit

Dr. Yamini Jain is an urban and transport planner with nearly two decades of international experience in research and consulting sectors. After working in India’s government and private consulting sector for almost 7 years, she moved to the Netherlands for her PhD. She has worked on international urban projects, has published a monograph (released recently), a number of international journal articles, conference papers, and book chapters; she reviews scientific articles for many highly acclaimed international journals; has been invited by premier universities/institutes in India, Norway, the Netherlands and Finland to give lectures; has advised many PhD and Masters students globally; given two TEDx talks in the Netherlands; and has been featured in magazines, podcasts and radio interviews. She continues to work on sustainable urban development, smart cities, smart mobility and closing gender gap in the design of our cities. She possesses excellent academic record with distinctions, a gold medal, and a number of scholarships and grants. In 2019, she was also nominated as one of the most inspiring women by VIVA400, in the Netherlands.
